"They can be fitted even before the carpet goes down or after, either way depending on how the carpet man can do his job more easily and if will be after me I prefer to fit them after the carpet so that the edging of the carpet will be covered nicely"

"Before carpets are fitted, they are there to have a decorative finish between the walls and floor finish. The carpet grippers that hold the carpets in place are fixed to the floors next to the edge of the skirting boards."

"If carpet goes underneath the skirting then it might be a struggle, more time consuming and cost more if you need to get underneath the floorboards, for every reason. The carpet looks much neater and tidy up to the skirting instead of underneath the skirtings, on the other hand, wooden floors look much better underneath the skirtings!"

"Hi before as when you need to replace your carpet it would be difficult and skirtings may need to be removed. Also if your carpet needs stretching it will be impossible
