Should the garage roof be insulated?

What is standard for an attached or detached garage? I have done some of my own research on related building regulations, but more confused than when I started…

If it’s been used day to day then I would say get it insulated, however it is just been used as. General garage then I wouldn’t say insulate it as it’s not too significant and would cost more money

If the garage roof is only used for storage i.e car, tools, boxes etc then insulation is an unnecessary add on. Insulation is mainly used for garage conversions.

It depends on what is going in the garage as for example if you had really expensive cars or motorcycle s you would want and insulated garage with temperature control
