Looking after slatted wood panels

How do you stop slatted wood panels getting dirty and make them easy to clean? Ours have a natural wood tone, so I don't want to paint or varnish them. Will a wax or oil work?

"Varnish would still preserve the look of the wood, whilst protecting the wood. There are many products on the market so it would really depend on your budget."

"You could put a linseed oil them , but will have a shine on it , you could thin it down a bit, or lightly sand it, afterwards , you can get a lots of oils, which won’t make it look like it’s been varnish, satinwood is good for a washed look, or Just put some wood persevering on, hopefully your find a solution. Good luck"

"Hiya, there is a great product called OSMO UV protection oil. It is pricey, but it does the job well! It will help preserve the wood's colour and protect from it mould and algae too.
Cleaning is easiest with a power washer - for timber you can just get a cheap one because you don't want a lot of power at all."
