Is there something wrong with the roof?

We went to view a terraced house we're interested in buying and noticed a brown stain in the ceiling of the second bedroom.
The condition of the roof from the outside looked suspect. Is it possible this brown stain is coming from the poor roof? It didn't appear damp but the ceiling was supposedly newly decorated so strange that this has appeared.

Yes its because of the roof, its too much damp inside creating this problem

Yes a damp/brown stain on ceiling in a bedroom is 110% signs of a leak from above, could either be the tiles or the leadwork. Hope this helps

If there are any wet looking stains on any part of the ceiling then that means that there's water getting in from the roof somewhere and that means you will need a roof inspection to find where the water is coming from. Every time I have a customer ring me saying that there are stains on the ceiling and I get on her roof to check it out, I always find faults on his or her roof that needs to be fixed.
