Is it worth clearing moss off the roof

Question

Moss keeps growing back every year and I’m not sure if it’s doing any harm? Is it something I need to deal with or can I leave it?

You can leave it but over time it will damage your tiles if it keeps coming back every year it hasn't been properly treated.
Should clean the roof then add a spray that prevents the moss from growing back hope this helps

Yes it is worth getting cleaned off but also sealed after is been done to put the protection back into the tile

Yeah it's worth getting the moss removed it causes issues in the long run blocks your gutters and the birds love the moss

Moss on a roof is the worst yeah you can clean it but it's comes back the spray is not the best and plus the moss eats away at the tiles so they absorb with water so then the tile is not water tight

This is generally caused from surrounding trees so unfortunately this will not go away it’s a problem a lot of people have when surrounded by trees 
However it is completely harmless to the roof unless it builds up that’s when it can cause leaks or gutter blockage

Hi you can clean the roof of without any water clean ridges etc 
Then treat the full roof with ally an moss prevention then screw fit a copper band along the top of your ridge system the copper stops the moss growth about 70%

It is worth cleaning moss and algae from roof for less stress on you're full roof gutters getting blocked not cleaning leads to gutters over flow and leaks lots more.

It gets a problem when it starts growing into the roof space where the battens are getting wet but biocide treatment should make it last longer than each year
