How much for garage with loft?

I have an attached double garage which we'd like to raise the pitched roof on so that we can put in some sort of conversion. The garage isn't converted and I'd like to keep that space for the cars, but the extra room above it would be perfect for an office. How much does a garage with a loft cost now? If it impacts things much, we live in Nottingham

Its not a straightforward question that i can provide a accurate quote for but to answer it in a general ball park figure.
It depends on specificationsetc . If its just a office and no one is sleeping there then its likely that you wont require a building warrant and planning consent and unlikely that youd require a habitation certificate . The cost for this type of work 30 /£40 thousand however it depends on structural work and clarifying whether the work requires planning and building warrant.
