Do you need to vent a garage roof?

I've got a few quotes for a new garage roof which seem reasonable, but the one I was going to go with is suggesting putting in some vents while the other two aren't. Why is that?

"Yes, you absolutely need to vent a garage roof to prevent heat and moisture buildup, which causes mould, rust, and premature roof material decay, even in unheated garages; proper ventilation creates airflow to remove humidity from activities like car use, and helps regulate temperature, protecting your roof structure and making the space more usable."

"condensation depending on what material as been used, best way to be on the safe side use soffit vents it doesn't compromise the roof, it will still make it one membrane, ii doesn't need to be on all sides"

"Won’t do any harm won’t cause problems maybe colder but it’s a garage. So likely better for fumes and chemicals kept in there"

"It depends on the type of garage and if it’s a cold roof or warm room

If so it will need ventilation to circulate the air within the roof of the garage

"In most cases, yes — ventilation is recommended and often necessary.

Ventilation helps to:
• Prevent condensation buildup
• Reduce risk of timber rot
• Extend roof lifespan
• Avoid mould growth

You typically need roof ventilation if:
• The garage is insulated
• It has a cold roof construction
• It stores vehicles (moisture source)
• It is attached to the house

Some contractors may omit vents on simple, uninsulated flat garages, but best practice is to include them. The quote including vents is generally the more thorough approach."

"Vents are not necessary but are recommended to prevent moisture build up vents can be added to fascias and soffits where there are flat roofs pitched roofs with ridges could have vented ridge or tile and no vents needed for dry ridge as there allow air to pass through and circulate in the loft"

"The majority of garage roofs do not need ventilation as it should have an natural air flow getting in from somewhere but it's important to have ventilation to stop mould and moisture building up or when it gets too hot for heat to escape so it doesn't damage any of the other materials so it lasts longer but to give an opinion I would have to have a look at the at the Roof to know what would be best hope this helps kind regards, John"

"Vents won't hurt preventative especially if you have electrical appliances in there"
