Cost of sunroom extension

Is this cheaper than an extension by a meaningful amount? Can anyone tell me what to expect when we start getting quotes

"Hi, it's great you asked a question before getting quotes it saves time and money.
I would say the costs for a sun room and an extension would be pretty similar if you are using similar products. For example the base would need to be the same in both cases the walls would depend on how the style of a sunroom was needed. If using glass walls and glass roof this I imagine would be cheaper but the more complex timber work and glass would drive the costs up. If pricing for an extension we would need to add insulation to building control compliant regulations again with planning permissions etc."

"Hi!

A sunroom is usually cheaper upfront than a full extension, mainly because it involves less structural work. That said, it’s worth thinking about how you want to use the space. Sunrooms aren’t always comfortable all year round, especially in winter, unless they’re built to a very high spec.

A house extension costs more initially, but it gives you a fully insulated, heated room that becomes part of the home and adds more long-term value."

"The cost depends on the size and if it falls under building controls category of sunroom or extension. The amount of glass used will determine the classification."
