Skim over living room walls
I now have had 2 quotes 1 which is charging £440 to smin 4 walls then i got a quote including the ceiling and walls £450?
k rend issues - use it or not?
I'm looking to have my house rendered. I live 1/2 a mile from the sea with a prevailing wind to my gable end. I like the modern look of k-rend or parex or webber but I am really concerned about the discolouration and staining of this stuff that you see EVERYWHERE you go. I am told that a particular paint is needed and should be applied soon after render is applied? What is this paint? By who? Or is there any other render or system that could be recommended? Thanks very much

What’s the best way to remove artex from walls?
Hello all, A property I have bought recently has thick artex across most walls and some ceilings. It has been tested for asbestos and received a negative result, thankfully. I would like to have most of these walls replastered over time and have the artex removed. Having tried a steamer and some sanding options, I’ve not been too successful. What would be the best option for me to remove all the artex while keeping the mess under control?
German product to repair cracked internal walls
Hi all, I need some advice. I'm about to hire a builder to modernise my flat. There a fair few cracks on a couple of walls. Nothing structural just your run of the mill period property issue. Most of the builders told me that they will rack out all cracks, apply mesh and then skim. One builder tells me that he won't skim all the walls. Instead use a German product and will apply it on these troubled walls and sand down and make good these walls. I kept asking him what is this "magic" product. He doesn't want to tell me, Instead he kept saying you can't find it here? Does anyone know what is this product might be or is he just telling me the fibs? Is the mesh and skimming the best option for me?
Hairline cracks in artex
I have 2 hairline cracks running across my living room ceiling and have joined at one bit creating an L shape. I’ve filled the cracks but will my ceiling cave it ?

I have a garden wall around a patio built with thermalite block. A small portion is a retaining wall but only about 30 cm deep. What can I use to render the block including below ground surface? The goal is to finish the block with a smooth surface and paint white. Location near Peterborough.
