I've read in a magazine about an insulating plaster made from lime, cork and loam but there's no mention of what it's called or what difference it makes. Does anyone know what this is, whether it works and how much it costs?
I have artex ceilings in 3 bedrooms which I would like covered. The house is 1950s, I haven't confirmed if there is asbestos yet. Would I need to check this first?
Having to continually repaint the black plinth around the bottom of the exterior north facing wall on my 1930s house with the render being very crumbly, paint always lifting/flaking off - even if I apply stabilising solution before Sandtex masonry paint. Above the plinth is fine. Could this be a symptom of an underlying issue? DPC in place and no other issues....
We have a few Artex ceilings that have been confirmed to contain asbestos. A local builder said he would overboard and then plaster and didn't seem too concerned about the asbestos. Would you not have to make holes to find the joists, disturbing the asbestos if you were to overboard? They said they wouldn't want to plaster directly on top because the current cracks will come through. I just wanted to get a 2nd opinion?
Crumbly plaster and little bulge in wall. Not sure who I need to fix it. Old terraced house.
