What’s the best way to remove artex from walls?

Hello all,
A property I have bought recently has thick artex across most walls and some ceilings. It has been tested for asbestos and received a negative result, thankfully.
I would like to have most of these walls replastered over time and have the artex removed. Having tried a steamer and some sanding options, I’ve not been too successful.
What would be the best option for me to remove all the artex while keeping the mess under control?

"Get a plasterer to bond over it all and then skim it."

"Hi. The best way to get rid of artex is to skim over it. I have done this for years with brilliant results leaving perfect smooth walls and ceilings.
Kind regards,

"Hi, it’s completely fine to leave the artex on and skim over it and you won’t even know . Thanks Ollie"
