How can I ensure that the bamboo flooring I purchase is sustainably and ethically sourced?
We are renovating a downstairs room that has a lino floor. When we took the skirting boards off and lifted the edge of the lino we found that the concrete didn’t go all the way to the walls ( 1 inch gap all the way round) and the gaps appear to be filled with loose material. When our radiator was fitted the concrete on the floor broke and we found it was only about 1cm thick. Do we need to get the whole floor re-done before replacing skirting and getting carpets fitted or is this a quick fix for any cracks or holes we find?
Do I need to have levelling compound laid prior to the vinyl floor being fitted as the grouting gaps are very shallow?

Can tiling in a bedroom work? Is there something that can be done to make it work, whether it be purely down to the general design, layout and look of the room? Is there perhaps something more I could do or something that a designer could come in to help with? As I’m interested in the possibility of laying tiles in my bedroom to give it a sort of Mediterranean look?

Is it okay to fit luxury vinyl atop a hard surface floor? If so, are there any notes of caution I should take into consideration? Also, could I do this DIY or should I really hire a professional?
