Should a floating floor move when you walk on it?

Our laminate floor has some flex in it, a bit bouncy in places. Is a small amount of movement normal for a floating floor or does it suggest it wasn't laid properly?

"No, floating floors should not move / be bouncy. Movement should be an absolute minimal in that you won’t feel or see it"

"The flooring shouldn't move at all, sounds like it been fitted to tight in places causing the bouncing."

"Hi Julie
Floating floor shouldn’t move when you are walk on it
It has a reaction for temperature changes it’s expand or shrink itself when react to warm or cold temperature, that’s why it’s call floating floor
Reason of movement under foot when you are walk on it mainly caused by uneven subfloor Subfloor must be even for hard floor installation
Either self levelling or plywood depending subfloor condition"

"There will be about of movement, but more spongey, but definitely nothing you should notice. If you do notice it, the wrong underlay could have been used, but more likely 80-95% the subfloor wasn’t levelled well enough or done at all. For laminate, the undulation on the subfloor shouldn’t be more than 2-3mm within a metre.
Hope that helps

"Floating floors can have a tiny bit of give, but you shouldn’t really notice it when walking on it. It should still feel solid overall.

If it feels bouncy in certain areas, that’s usually down to the floor underneath not being completely level rather than the flooring itself. Any dips or uneven spots will cause that movement.

So a slight bit is normal, but if you can clearly feel it flexing, it’s a sign the subfloor probably needed more prep before the flooring went down."
