Is beech parquet or maple parquet flooring better?

Should I go with beech parquet or maple parquet flooring? What are the pros/cons of each?

"Maple is slightly harder wearing than beech but you will notice the grain more"

"There are quite comparable floors although Maple is generally considered more visually appealing, also Maple is very much slightly harder than beech. With the woods being so similar the most important factor to consider really is the finish that you will have and the traffic and use of the room/area you intend to have the floor installed in."

"Beech is more of a soft wood, maple is a tougher wood and will last a lot longer."
