  • advice on smart appliances

Just how good are smart appliances? I’ve heard a lot about the internet of things and how with more and more connected devices, we can have more control and ultimately simplify everything in life. Is this a fair assessment? Are smart appliances beneficial or a waste of money? I’d love to hear the honest thoughts of a professional on the matter. Thanks!

    Pull cord socket fell off

I tried to replace a pull cord, I cut the old one off and tried to unscrew the socket to loop the Bree string through, realised after it was much more complicated! I unscrewed a smaller white socket inside the socket and the lights went out and I accidentally dropped it with little pieces everywhere and have no idea how I can reattach the pull cord. Probably just need a new one? Issue is now the light was still on whilst it fell out and i can’t isolate the bathroom and turn that off only.

cost of fitting two thin film solar panels fitted on a semi-detached house in Leeds

I would like to have two thin film solar panels fitted to my room. My home is a semi-detached house with a hip roof. I live in Leeds. How much can I expect it to cost to hire an electrician to fit these panels to my roof between the costs of the panels themselves and the labour cost? How long might the job take?
