What are arc blasts?

What are arc blasts and are they a danger in regular settings, such as in the house?

"When a circuit is arcing it is where electrity can jump & can be very dangerous and you may hear a crackling sound like sparking. This usually is the cause of bad maintenance like loose terminals inside the consumer unit."

"An arc blast is the name given to the explosive burst of energy that occurs during an arc flash. An arc blast occurs as the result of a malfunction in the insulation between two energized phase conductors on high powered electrical equipment. Rather than flowing through a conductor, the current flows through the air, which releases thermal energy into the immediate environment. this would not occur in a domestic setting."

"The arc blast is the pressure wave created after an arc fault. These can be strong enough to throw a fully grown technician to the ground or cause additional equipment damage. Arc blasts can cause damage to your hearing or brain functions"
