  • Replacing electric radiators

I’m looking to replace electric radiators in my flat (two with a more modern version, one with a towel rail). I’m just wondering if it is a difficult/ timely job for an electrician to do? It would need to be wall mounted and doesn’t have a plug, just an ‘off-peak’ switch. Also, is there anything not obvious that I need to consider? Cheers

    New Electric Oven

Hi all, My old oven packed up over Christmas so I ordered a new one. The old oven was simply plugged into a socket on the wall. The new oven is 4030W and the existing hob 4050W, the existing hob is wired into the mains, both oven and existing hob are on the same CU circuit. I have been quoted £350 for a new cable 10mm cable into the CU (around 5m from the oven), installation of new switch and connecting the oven up. Does this sound about accurate? Thanks in advance!

How to protect electrics during a floor

I live in a part of the UK that is susceptible to flooding. In the event of floods, what steps should I take in terms of the electrics? Should I turn off the power? If it’s not something I should myself, is there any way to have emergency workers come out to help with the electricity during such a scenario? Is it best to just evacuate?
