What is an internal garage and what makes it different?
Our new house has a conservatory across half of the house, which is about 5m deep. It is in good condition. Ideally I would like to have a full width extension. Is it worth trying (or even possible) to salvage the conservatory, incorporating it into an extension across the rest of the house? Or is it easier/cheaper just to take it all down and start from scratch?
I'm thinking about extending out a little to the side of my house, but I'm a bit unclear on how far we can get to the boundary (where the fence is). Is the main thing that it can't extend beyond the ground floor and that the drainage needs to remain on our side?
How can I bring more light in downstairs without adding any kind of extension or conservatory?
Where the ground meets with the wall someone has put which I think is bitchumen And there is now water coming through from outside. Should I fill the gap with something then add more bitchumen?
I’m planning some building work that affects a shared wall and just need to know what a party wall agreement typically costs
How do you know if an exterior crack in the wall is subsidence or wall tie problem.
Must the style, material, design, colour, etc. of an extension match my house? And if so, to what extent? How does my permitted development rights apply in this sense?
In what circumstances would you need building regulations approval to get a carport fitted? Who would sign off on this and how much might it cost to make an application if it’s necessary?
