We've heard lots of scare stories about new-build homes not being built to good standards. What should we be looking out for and what questions should we be asking before we part with any money?
Outdoor bbq all cracked and crumbling inside
Have an outdoor bbq that was already installed in garden, don't think heatproof material was used on the inside as its all cracked and crumbling inside, not sure what i need to repair the inside, heatproof cement or mortar?
Increasing head height in upstairs rooms

TWO CRACKS APPEARING ON INTERNAL WALL IN HALLWAYWALL
DOES THIS MEAN THE WALL NEEDS UNDERPINNING. THERE ARE TWO CRACKS RUNNING DOWN FROM THE CEILING ABOUT 16 INCHES LONG EITHER SIDE OF BEDROOM DOOR.

How much weight on stud wall?
Hi, I’m moving to a new flat and have bought a tv shelf unit with cupboard storage either side which can be wall mounted. There won’t be a lot of weight inside the cupboards but the unit itself is very heavy ( about 30kg) and the tv is a 55inch ( so I’m guessing about 10-15kg). Is this too much weight to mount on a stud wall?
