DIY cladding mixture

Is it legal to create your own cladding mix, by combining different ingredients? For instance, could I create a lime monocouche hybrid, etc.? How could I tell if my hybrid is going to work okay? Is this simply too risky eitherway? Just a thought.

Different methods and different products act differently. They all can create a finish but achieve it in different ways and by making a concoction of many types will cancel out the properties of one selected method.
There would be no point adding lime into monocouche for example as the latter is a cement. Therefore cancelling out the benefit of using lime, a breathable traditional render.
By adding the lime it may prolong the working time of the monocouche but that’s about it?.,
My advice would be to stick to the tried and tested methods that have been used for hundreds of years."

"I would stay away from such ideas as this is highly likely to course many problems down the line and won't look right"
