"there no straight answer to that, get in touch with your local council planning, will depend on building where you are"

"Yes depending on the height you have in mind if it’s under 4m then no perimits are needed. So raising and keeping a flat roof is much easier than a pitched and much cheaper option"

"In many cases, no — raising a garage roof will require planning permission because it changes the height and external appearance of the structure.

Under UK permitted development rules, a garage roof can sometimes be altered without permission only if:
• The garage is detached and single storey
• The overall height stays within PD limits (typically max 4m for a dual-pitched roof or 3m for flat roof)
• The footprint does not increase
• It is not forward of the principal elevation
• Your property is not in a conservation area or subject to restrictions

Raising the roof height usually exceeds permitted development, so you should check with your local planning authority before proceeding."

"Hi

Under Permitted Development (PD) rights, many outbuildings including garages can be altered without a planning application, as long as the changes stay within certain limits, for example:
• The garage stays single-storey.
• The overall height stays within the permitted height limits (normally max 4 m with a dual-pitched roof or 3 m for other roofs).
• The structure does not cover more than half the area around the original house.
• The garage is behind the house’s principal elevation.

Minor roof repairs or replacements that don’t significantly change the shape or height typically fall under PD and don’t need planning permission

"Yes it could be risen, up to a height, but all depends on the council regulations! Each council has different requirements, but planning permission is not necessary!"

"Yes you need planning permission if the high is 4 metres from the ground"
