Fix Leak In Tiled Flat Roof
I hired this contractor to repair a roof leak around the chimney and replace the weather seal on a kitchen window. The agreed total was £910, reduced to £870 following a £40 discount. I paid the full £870. The roof repair came with a five-year guarantee, as confirmed in our WhatsApp messages. Subsequently, I noticed another leak in the bathroom, close to the original leak in the kitchen. I asked the contractor to inspect the area and clarify whether the issue was related to the original repair. The contractor advised that the original leak had been fixed and that the bathroom leak was a separate issue, quoting an additional £520 for further repairs. I understand that an older roof can have multiple issues, but I was disappointed that a new leak appeared so close to the original problem and that we could not reach an agreement on whether it was connected to the original issue. I also requested photographs of the completed work and a PDF invoice on several occasions. Although photographs were eventually provided, I found it difficult to establish clearly which images showed the completed original repair and which related to the newly reported leak. I was also unable to obtain photographs showing the roof before the original repair, despite requesting them. Unfortunately, we were unable to resolve our disagreement about the cause of the new leak and the cost of further work. Based on my experience, I would recommend agreeing the precise scope of repairs, what the guarantee covers, and the arrangements for providing invoices and before-and-after photographs in writing before work begins.
Central Scotland RoofingThis gentleman wanted me to fix a separate leak two meters away from the leak fixed I went today all the work done is still in place he has had no leaks it is a 4 story property it would have been to expensive with scaffolding so I did it without this was six weeks ago we have had gale force winds and heavy rain for three days solid the kitchen has no leak now because he has a leak in the bathroom now he asked how much it would be I gave him a price again without scaffolding when I told him the price he stated if I didn’t fix it at no extra cost he would leave a bad review I have been back three times to fix the kitchen window and he was told not to open but kept doing and I didn’t charge him for extra visits for repairs
