  • Disappearing channels on Sky

Some channels intermittently disappear on my Sky Box even though I am fully subscribed to the Sky package. Do you know why this could be happening? Is it related to Sky or more likely to do with my satellite dish? If the latter is the case, what should I do about this? How can it be fixed?

How can I tell if a wall is load bearing? I know that seeing 'if it sounds hollow' isn't necessarily enough!

    HOLES IN CEMENT

Could you please advise me as to what product could be used to bung up the hole/s, in the cement, under the fascia, of my roof? Which would set hard, and be rat-proof. Rats have climbed up the drain pipe, to crawl into the hole, and entered the roof space. I need to deal with the problem quickly. Would I need scaffolding, as opposed to a ladder? It is in an awkward place. I have posted a job, but no one has got back to me, so I am considering doing it myself. Is there any kind of guard, that could be put around the drainpipe? To stop the rat/s from climbing up it.

cost of water features that attract nature

What are the best stores/websites to find high quality water features? What are the best water features you’d recommend both to attract nature (e.g. birds and bees) and to add aesthetic value. I’d prefer a mix of water features that make noise and those that are nice and quiet. How much would these features cost on average? What are the best ways to lay them out throughout my garden?

Change a radiator with communal heating

I want to change my passage radiator, we cut the water supply to the radiators, there was no running hot water and every radiator was off. We isolated the radiator that we wanted to take off. I'm on communal heating by the way, as we started to drain the water there was just loads coming out, we stopped at 2 buckets but more wanted to come, is this normal? Or have we done something wrong?

How do I prevent rats/mice getting into my house?

I have recently moved into my new house. It is an old stone house and has been renovated in recent years, which I’m told has had some instances of rodent infestation in the past. I don’t want any repeat of that for me, so I want to prevent them even getting into the house as much as possible. Does anyone have any advice for preventing this?
