  • Wisteria all over roof

Hello - we are considering buying a house where the wisteria has been left to run riot and now covers three sides of the roof. It is an old three storey high building so very difficult to access. Roofer or tree surgeons ? Any ideas of what this will cost ?

Can you install laminate flooring on stairs?

Morning.. I understand that laminate can’t go over the bends on stairs but I want to replace the carpet with something else such as laminate. Is it an easy enough task for a DIYer to end up with a good looking finished product?

    Damaged scotia beading

Hello, I had new laminate flooring and scotia beading laid a couple of years ago. Recently I noticed that a small section of scotia beading has become damaged. This section is near where my dining table is and a chair has been scraping/pressing into the section when I sit down (space is tight in my flat). Some of the top layer of the scotia beading has been dented/torn. It is not very visible unless looking close up. I am wondering if there is something I can do to repair this section or do I have to replace the whole section of beading. I have looked into floor repair kits but I was not sure if this is the best way to fix this type of damage.

Spotlights on the old Artex ceiling

Hello, I’m buying a house. It has Artex ceilings ( May have asbestos as the house is from 70s) I want to have spot lights installedIn the living room and kitchen and the ceiling plastered and skimmed. Do I have to get the ceilings plastered first and then lights installed? What are the safety considerations around making holes in a ceiling that possibly contains asbestos. The bedrooms above have carpets and floorboards underneath ( as I was told) Thank you
