The arm for the overhead shower is a push fitting onto a pipe that has two o ring seals and it is locked in place by two small Allen screws. There is a leak when running from the screw holes. How can I stop the leak?

Incomplete party / fire wall in loft

I am in the process of purchasing an end terrace property and survey has noted an incomplete fire barrier / party wall issue in the loft which mortgage lender wants fixed (as do I) - there is a chimney on the party wall blocking most of the space but large gaps either side going diagonally. Question is: what is the best way to make this fire safe & also secure from neighbour entry? What is the expected cost & time involved? Not sure if I need general builder, fire proof expert etc? Advice greatly appreciated. (Based SE London / Kent).

Difference between wall tiles and floor tiles?

Can you fit wall tiles to the floor or floor tiles to a wall? Is this possible/effective? Does it depend on the product? How can I tell what may be the case?

    Equipment Burning Out

I've had to replace 5 new combi ovens. The microwave part of the oven burns out but the actual oven and grill remain in good working order. Could this be caused by faulty wiring that somehow damages the microwave but not the entire oven? I'm desperate to get to the root of this problem as I can't afford to keep replacing my combi ovens the last two of which were Kupperbusch and Hotpoint. Also worried that the wiring might be unsafe. Thank you

Fitting a hinged shower screen on an L shaped bath

We have replaced tiles on end wall of our L shaped bath and have a new hinged bath screen to go on which obviously means drilling into the tiles. Is this a DIY job or does it need an expert? Thanks.

    Replacing a Flat Felt Roof

Hi, We have a leak coming through to our living room ceiling from the flat roof/terrace above. The terrace is currently covered with felt and water pools. We have had a number of trades come around to quote to resurface the terrace, most have said they wouldn't replace it with anything else other than fibre glass which we can't afford. One company has suggested removing the felt, adding a bitumen layer, PVA and then self-levelling compound with a 10mm drop/slop so the water drains off. Around the edge of the terrace they will install edge panels with waterproof sealant. Does this sound like a suitable fix as I'm nervous about paying the money to find its not fit for purpose at a later date. Many thanks Nic

    Flashing around chimney

Is it good practice to fit step and cover flashing to go over plain profile tiles (Terreal clay) rather than use traditional method using soakers and flashing not showing over tile?
