  • Should I put on undercoat when painting panelling?

Hi. I have new wooden panelling a mixture of mdf tulip wood and pine. I primed it 2 to 3 times until it was evenly white. I didn’t undercoat because farrow and ball only supply a combined primer and undercoat and another combined option like that was v thick and viscous and difficult to work with. So I went straight to farrow and ball modern eggshell for a 40-% sheen. I have put two coats on and from a distance it looks fine bit up close it looks streaky and pretty obvious brush marks. The paint goes on v smoothly and looks v nice but once it dries it looks terrible. Can you help???

    Back boiler combi replacement

I’m looking at buying a property with a back boiler, what would the likely cost be of removing this and replacing with a combi boiler? Appreciate costs would vary, depending on work needed. The current back boiler backs onto the kitchen wall (from behind the lounge fireplace) and would want the new boiler in the kitchen. Thanks in advance

Plug socket off but appliances still running

I just moved into a flat and noticed that 2 of the wall sockets remain live even when they are switched off. E.g TV is switched off but the light remains on. The two wall sockets in question are in different rooms, I haven't tested all the other sockets in the flat yet but wanted to know what could cause this?

Freestanding oven does it need a cooker point?

I bought a replacement oven recently after mine gave in. My last one was built into a special cooker point which has been disconnected and the new one came with just a regular plug. Should this be plugged into a separate socket like my old one of can i just use a regular 3 pin plug socket? I'm just wondering if there's any regulations i should be worried about. Thanks in advance.
