Plaster over Zinsser Gardz

I’m trying to prepare walls ready for a plasterer to come in and skim coat. I’ve taken off wallpaper back to the old skim coat, and the adhesive is a nightmare to get off. I’m not confident there won’t be residue left, so was going to apply gardz to solve that problem. Can a skim coat go straight over gardz, or will I need to PVA/SBR/Blue grit as well?

"Best once is dry apply SBR the day before and another coat on the same day and then plaster it."

"You're probably better letting the plasterer sort out what's needs to be done so the skim will hold... As if you do something wrong then it's more work and more cost. But a normal mix of PVA is really good for removing paint and wallpaper and it's residue. Happens to me all the times I will PVA a wall ready to be skimmed and the PVA makes the paint work start to bubble and then just scrapes off."

"Hi, you can plaster over zinsser gardz but you won't need to use it. After paper is stripedet it dry then yourself can apply 2 coats of diluted Pva to the surface."

"Quick answer is yes you can skim over zinseer gardz. After applying gardz let it dry for a few days till it goes hard and I would apply sbr/pva then skim. Hope this has helped you."
