  • Grass growing after decking removal

My family and I moved into a new house recently. There is old decking at the end of the garden and we’d prefer to have an all grass garden. If we have the old decking removed, is there any chance that grass will grow again there? My partner and I asked the previous owners and they said the decking has been there since the early 2000s. Or we will have to install artificial grass instead?

Checking quality and standard of new-build homes

We've heard lots of scare stories about new-build homes not being built to good standards. What should we be looking out for and what questions should we be asking before we part with any money?

    Replace electric shower

Hi hive mind I'm moving into a new house soon and planning to completely rip out the bathroom and start again. Currently there is a bath with an electric shower. the water is served by a tank (there's one in the loft and one in the cupboard next to the bathroom) i'm assuming there are hot and cold pipes running from the water tank to serve the bath taps? in this case when i do the re-fit is it going to be possible to install a mixer shower (i plan to get rid of the bath entirely for a nice walk in shower/wet room look) or am i forever stuck with electric showers? the tiles and floors will be getting ripped up anyway so i'm assuming it shouldn't be a problem? Thanks all!
