I've read that PPG Diamond paint products are the most durable on the market, would you agree? If not, what other brands might be better?
Bathroom flooring cut around suite and silicone or best to remove it?
Hello I've just had a new driveway put in my 1930's semi and in areas it slopes towards the house. We went with a reputable company and apart from the slope towards the house in places they've done a really good job. As it's 1930's its suspended timber floors so I don't want water flooding underneath it and giving us damp and root in the house. The gradient isn't massive, but it's enough to mean water runs the wrong way towards the house in places We are where we are, clearly lots of issues above. I guess what I need to know what are my options now to rectify this? Couple of suggestions below: 1. Get the company/someone else to angle grind the drive up and retro fit some drainage channels that take the water away (can this be done? how neat can it be done retrospectively)? 2. Fit some sort of thin tile/sloped tile on top of the edging and seal it all like mad so it creates a runaway channel towards the flower bed on the left of some photos TIA BH
Want a new oven installed. Old one was 13amp connected via plug. Have 6mm cable attached to 40amp on circuit breaker already supplying induction hob. New oven is 3.6kW 16amp. From what I've looked at i think I do not need new wire from circuit board. Is this correct?
I want to fit 2 doors how much will be the charge?
Is there anyone who would do a third party inspection? If so whats the cost?
I have an old heat only boiler and want to upgrade. I have a Geledhill tank, pump, valves etc. I have so much mixed info and huge quotes @ £4k that want to replace the pump, valves etc etc. And I also have advise that says remove all kit and install a combi boiler. What do the experts think ? The quotes are huge for both, and they want to add / not include a power flush and fancy thermostat. The quotes also add on the cost of a magna filter, not included but added as extra!, Is this correct? I have a thermostat already ,not TRVs granted but at £40 per rad ( 7 rad) it’s seems extremely high. Thanks in advance
Hi there, I bought a Hob and Cooker package from Argos: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9343366?clickPR=plp:1:3 On the website, it stated that the cooker is hardwired. When I received this, it came with a standard plug, however the hob itself has a hardwire connection to it. My connection for this, is meant to be hardwired in - with a 6mm, 32amp connection for it. I am based in South London. My question is: 1) Can the hob (6400W) and the oven (2100-2500w) be connected to the same outlet? 2) Is there anyway to remove the plug from the oven and have this hard wired? 3) How much would this likely cost? Thank you
Our house was extended at some point to add a sun room to the back of the house. The original rear window was left in the back wall to let in light to the kitchen. It doesn't look very pretty and the sun room feels tacked on. What's the cheapest way to remodel it and modernise it slightly? What would a builder suggest?
How can I ensure the water is turned off at my property before carrying out work at home?
