    Tiling before remodelled bathroom fitting

Hi. We’re getting a new suite put in, but it’s not going in the same places as what’s being taken out. There’s going to be pipe work in all new places - where the Plumber decides is best. So, as we don’t know where the Plumbers will put the new pipe work . Do we tile now, or after fitting?

Making a window opening in a timber framed house

Hello, I have just bought a 7yr old house and would like to put a new window in the living room as there is only a small one at the back of the room. When I got the paperwork whilst I was buying the house, it said that my house is timber framed. I guess my questions are: 1) how do we know where the structural frame beams are when it looks just like a regular house? (i.e. it's brick outside and plastered walls inside) Can we look under the floor boards upstairs? 2) is is more expensive to fit windows in a timber framed house? 3) how do I know if a builder/window fitter is competent in fitting windows in a timber frame house? What questions can I ask to check? Thanks Jemma x
