We recently had hall, stairs, landing, lounge & dining room carpet fitted with underlay onto wood floors and they have glued and used grippers but the carpet has come away from one part of the fireplace and is fraying as if it has been cut too short, where the carpet goes upto the grippers and is tucked in it does not look flat but slopes near the skirting, it has round dents in the carpet in corners, is loose on the stairs where it comes down to the stair you stand on, if you run your hand at the back of the stairs where the drop and flat part join you can feel the wood with no carpet in place and on several stairs the gripper spikes stick through the carpet. please can someone advise whether I am right to complain and ask for this carpet to be replaced as I feel that they will just try to do a quick cheap repair. Also the fitter and his assistant were only here for under 2hrs to complete all of this work so was this rushed (the lounge and dining room are not small area).

Having to continually repaint the black plinth around the bottom of the exterior north facing wall on my 1930s house with the render being very crumbly, paint always lifting/flaking off - even if I apply stabilising solution before Sandtex masonry paint. Above the plinth is fine. Could this be a symptom of an underlying issue? DPC in place and no other issues....
