How long do granite tiles last?

Hi there, I’m thinking of having new tiles fitted to my bathroom. I’m just wondering, on average, how long do granite tiles usually last? Thanks for your time.

"Granite countertops last longer than most other materials, offering a durable and beautiful material to use throughout your kitchen. Granite can last for 100+ years; after all it is a natural substance found deep in the earth that is already millions of years old.

Granite is a very hard substance, which means it is not as susceptible to scratching as other common countertop surfaces. It is also pretty resistant to heat, hence why it works great in the kitchen where heat is an unavoidable element. Durability and longevity aren’t the only reasons people go with granite. There are dozens of granite countertop shades to chose from, meaning there is always something to match your style."

"Hi Cheryl,
Granite is extremely hard and will outlast your building. The issue of stone tiles in bathrooms is much more about the structure behind them and the adhesive used.
Current UK building codes recommend that foam backer boards such as Delta or Wadi boards are used not plasterboard. Please see the process page on our website for further information and pictures

"For a bathroom, granite tiles can last an average of twenty years plus. If properly cared for and maintained they will also last for alot, lot longer, like thirty-plus years."

"Hi Cheryl. Granite tiles are the same as any other tile, in that they do not actually wear out. After a period of time say ten years they may need regrouting. But you will get fed up with them long before they wear out Regards David"
