When is plaster ready to paint?

I've just had the walls skimmed in my lounge and I'm eager to get it painted. How do I know if the plaster's dry enough to paint?

"It will all turn pink in colour, then you can give it all a mist coat to seal it first."

"Wait for a couple of days and you will see the dark patches start to go pink
Once the whole area of plaster is pink it’s good to go but id wait another 24/48 hrs to be certain it is completely dry"

"Curing time is usually 24-48 hours depending on the thickness of the render, but if you touch the wall and it doesn't feel wet or cold you can paint it with no problems!!!"
