Weather coating cost for exterior walls

The render on our gable end takes a battering from the rain and never seems to dry out. What do installers charge for weather coating a whole house?

It depends what you mean by weather coating do you mean a waterproof coat or a re render

Depends on the render , if render  is not drying out I would suggest a breathable new render system, krend )old sand and cement render systems do not breathe application off a coating system storm dry can cause further issues internally and on my experience does not work, the material is holding far to much moisture and will need replacing at some point.

I have had a look and it would cost around £4,000 depending on the type of house the price varies and also with the cost of materials

Depends on how big the house is. But if it is getting a lot of weather to the wall it would be best to give that wall 3/4 coats .

For weather coating a whole house, including scaffolding, preparation and application, I’d expect a typical cost to be around £7,000–£10,000, depending on the size of the property and the condition of the existing render.

If the gable end is constantly wet and struggling to dry, the render should be inspected before coating. Any cracks, damaged render or other areas allowing water penetration need to be repaired first. A weatherproof coating can then provide additional protection, but it shouldn’t be used simply to cover an existing damp or render problem.

It normally costs around £25 a sq meter but I would use the new silicone render as it lasts alot longer and you dont have the cost of painting and weathering coat every year
