What would an electrician charge to fit a ceiling fan?

We want one in the bedroom for summer (replacing the existing light fitting). Quick job or more involved than it looks?

Likely £100 +. Remove existing ceiling rose terminate wiring, possible strengthening of existing ceiling with timber. Maybe junction box in loft etc

That’s a reasonably straight forward job, as long as there is head room and the unit is ok to be used in a bathroom on the manufacturer instructions.

Depends on multiple things, for example if wiring is ok and it’s just a straight swap then an electrician can charge between £40-£80 depending on the fan. Plus you need to add the cost of the fan if the customer isn’t supplying one

It really depends on the fitting. If it is a straightforward replacement, it will cost around £100. However, an accurate quote depends on the size and weight of the fan, and what the ceiling can support. For example, the electrician may have to open the ceiling to add noggins for extra support.

Dear customer
   If your bedroom is upstairs with a loft above it then it will be less cost as it will be an easier job to get it to a high standard ,  I suspect unless you live in a bungalow. In a bedroom I suspect you mean a light/fan rather than an extract fan as I initially suspected, These need secure fixings good connection's and adequately installed with maintenance for example testing and inspection in mind and a good risk assessment is integral to ensure it potentially has safety/com-pliancy/robustness/integrity/efficiency for the foreseeable..
