What should you use to fill gaps under skirting boards?

Had some vinyl installed, but the gap between the skirting board and floor is bit too much. They're use some type of glue, but is there something else (better looking!) I can use

"A 2-4 mm expansion gap must always be maintained between the flooring and skirting boards to accommodate future movement and ensure structural integrity. This gap should be filled with a flexible, anti-mould, waterproof silicone sealant, ideally colour-matched to the skirting board (e.g., white if the skirting is white).

Levente"

"There are a few options, you could use a colour match silicone (either the same colour as the flooring or the skirting board) a scotia beading, there are a huge array of pre finished scotia to match most flooring types or you can buy timber beading and paint it. Final but most involved option is to remove the skirting and refit it to close the gap, however this will also require some repair/painting to the wall!"

"It depends on the size of the gap and the finish you want.

Best options:
• Decorators caulk (paintable) – ideal for small gaps (2–5mm). Gives a clean, neat finish and can be painted.
• Scotia or quadrant trim – best for larger gaps. This is the most common and professional-looking solution with vinyl or laminate.
• Colour-matched flexible sealant – good if the skirting isn’t being painted and you want it to blend in.

Using glue alone usually looks messy and can crack over time. If the gap is more than a few millimetres, trim is normally the correct solution."

You can get a matching colour scotia to hide the gaps around the edge to tie in with the vinyl"

"To fill gaps under skirting boards after vinyl installation, consider using caulk, decorative beading, foam strips, wood filler, or flexible gap fillers for a better aesthetic finish."
