"You could have a leak on your roof or a leaky gutter that's allowing water to travel down between the two walls and filling your socket. Or there may be some missing pointing on your external wall that's allowing water to penetrate and build up."

"Possibly has no brick trays or they are damaged, water getting absorbed through the brick work and mortar rely of trays to expel the water over a dpc or flashing"
