Upstairs lights not working

All the lights on the first floor stopped working at once but the downstairs is fine and the fuse box hasn't tripped. What's likely to have caused this?

"There could be many of reasons most likely a continuity fault, a break or loose connection somewhere along the circuit but would need to inspect further to give a definitive answer."

"If all of the upstairs lights have stopped working at the same time, but the downstairs lights are still working and no breaker has tripped, the most likely causes are:

• A fault on the upstairs lighting circuit, such as a loose connection at a ceiling rose, light fitting, junction box, or switch.
• A failed connection in the circuit causing the permanent live, neutral, or switched live to be lost to the entire upstairs lighting circuit.
• A faulty MCB, RCBO, or fuse protecting that circuit, even if it doesn’t appear to have tripped.

We’d recommend having the circuit tested and inspected, as the issue is unlikely to be caused by individual bulbs given that all lights failed simultaneously."

"It could be a number of things. It could be the light itself, the lamp or there could be a fault in the wiring which would require investigation"

"Either the perminant live or neutral is disconnected or snapped."
