    Streaky black stains on roof

    Roofers

How do you get rid of black stains that are streaked along a roof? Is this an easy issue to solve DIY or am I best hiring a professional? Are there any products in particular that I should use? Cheers in advance.

"When you say black stains straight along our roof do you mean inside or outside if it’s inside then obviously it’s a leak and could be water travelling along Rafters but also also it’s hard to give my opinion as I don’t know the roof in question but I’m happy to take a look and try find the issue

"Hi Michael the only thing you can really do with this is pressure clean the roof witch seems a bit drastic for a few stains I wouldn’t worry about it if I was being honest it won’t cause any problems

"If it is black, that normally indicates to a mould build up this is normally cause internal, best advice is to buy a thermo meter this measures the temp and humidity in roof then you can act on it buy creatining ventilation etc opening windows and doors to allow air flow"
