Streaky black stains on roof

How do you get rid of black stains that are streaked along a roof? Is this an easy issue to solve DIY or am I best hiring a professional? Are there any products in particular that I should use? Cheers in advance.

"Hi Michael the only thing you can really do with this is pressure clean the roof witch seems a bit drastic for a few stains I wouldn’t worry about it if I was being honest it won’t cause any problems

Hope this answers your question"

"When you say black stains straight along our roof do you mean inside or outside if it’s inside then obviously it’s a leak and could be water travelling along Rafters but also also it’s hard to give my opinion as I don’t know the roof in question but I’m happy to take a look and try find the issue

"Typically, in cleaning black streaks from an asphalt shingle roof, a mixture of water, bleach, and trisodium phosphate (TSP) is needed. Keep in mind that you may need to protect your plants under your roof since this mixture can damage them."
