Square entrance to archway

I have a square doorway 1.5m wide that I want to turn into an archway: made with timber frame, drywall and plastered so that it would be ready for painting. How much would this cost?

Without seeing the doorway in person ,width of the wall etc. Probably around £300-£400.

All depends on what you want;  never accept a quote based on a blind estimation the person needs to see it in person. for them to be able to determine what they are actually actually taking on.

From the information given i think a reasonable quote for this job would be £300 labour only and extra for materials of cource .

For a 1.5m square doorway converted into a timber-framed archway, boarded and plastered ready for paint, you’d be looking at roughly £750-£1000.
A few things that can push the price up or down within that range:
	•	Whether the wall is load-bearing (needs a lintel/building control sign-off) or just a stud partition
	•	How tight the curve of the arch is - tighter curves need more time shaping ribs and double-layering the plasterboard
	•	Condition of the existing opening and how much making good is needed around it
	•	Access and location (jobs in and around London tend to sit at the higher end)

You can buy an archway in jewson etc it’s made of mesh and pretty easy to fit, once it’s fitted you will need to plaster it with board finish
