Should decking be level?

I'm having decking built over a slightly sloped area of garden. Should it be laid completely level or does it need a slight fall for drainage like a flat roof?

"Decking should generally be installed level for comfort and appearance, but the structure should allow water to drain freely.

A small fall isn’t usually necessary because rainwater drains through the gaps between the boards. The important thing is ensuring adequate ventilation beneath the deck and that the subframe doesn’t trap standing water.

For composite decking, always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations, as some systems require a slight fall."

"Morning, Decking should always have a slight fall as you do not want standing water."

"This really depends on a few factors,
How evenly flat the ground that has been decked is , where it is : if it is butted against your home , then yes it should have a slight fall away from the property.
You.shoukd also have a membrane installed underneath it to prevent weeds, and ensure that propper preparation of the area has been done to ensure adequate drainage."

"Even though Declan has got holes between each board it should always have at least a slight form for the water to run fast"

"Lay it level, as a sloping deck is a hazard to wet and frosty weather"

"slight fall to allow rain water to drain off. you dont want the water sitting on the top"

"Decking does not need to be perfectly level. In fact, it is standard practice to build your framing with a slight slope or "fall" away from your home. This allows rainwater to run off the boards, preventing mould, rot, and standing water."

"For decking, you generally want the deck surface itself to be essentially level, not sloped like a flat roof. Water drains through the gaps between the boards rather than running off the top surface. Since your garden is already slightly sloped, so the finished deck will sit level even though the ground underneath isn’t. The important part is there is airflow beneath the decking."
