Live next to a busy road, noise is constant. Rough cost per metre for proper acoustic fencing? Worth the bother in your opinion?

£250/£400 it would cost. A lot but would be worth it but make sure wood is good otherwise you could be replacing it in a few months

Acoustic fencing can definitely help with road noise, especially if it’s solid, has no gaps and is high enough to block the direct line of sound. The price per metre can vary quite a lot depending on the type of acoustic panels, posts and installation. For a busy road, I’d recommend proper acoustic fencing rather than standard timber panels if reducing noise is the main priority.

Yes if you like the quite  life  this is normally done by local builders when building new homes

For a proper acoustic fencing, we’d budget around £200–£360 per 1.8m bay fitted. It needs to be solid and tall with minimal gaps. It won’t block all traffic noise, but it should make a noticeable difference.
