"Yes, bench saws should be serviced regularly to ensure they remain in good working condition and operate safely. Regular maintenance and servicing can help prevent potential issues, maintain accuracy and precision, and prolong the lifespan of the bench saw.

Here are some reasons why bench saws should be serviced:

1. Safety: Regular servicing helps identify and address any safety issues or potential hazards. This can include checking the safety features, verifying that the saw is properly grounded, and ensuring all the guards and protective devices are functioning correctly.

2. Performance: Servicing can help optimize the performance of the bench saw. This may involve adjusting and aligning the blade, inspecting and cleaning the cutting components, and lubricating the moving parts. These actions can improve the accuracy, efficiency, and overall cutting quality.

3. Wear and Tear: Over time, components of the bench saw can experience wear and tear. Regular servicing allows for the inspection and replacement of worn-out parts such as belts, bearings, and brushes, which helps prevent unexpected breakdowns and maintains the saw's reliability.

4. Dust Collection: Many bench saws have dust collection systems to minimize airborne particles and maintain a clean working environment. These systems need regular cleaning and maintenance to ensure they function effectively, preventing clogs and maintaining good dust extraction.

5. Manufacturer Recommendations: Bench saw manufacturers often provide guidelines and recommendations for servicing intervals and procedures. Following these guidelines can help maintain the warranty and ensure optimal performance of the saw.

It's advisable to consult the specific manufacturer's instructions or contact a professional technician or authorized service center for guidance on servicing your particular bench saw model."

"I use my bench saw all day long, most days. It's never let me down and never needed to be serviced. Just clean it regularly and check electrical connections. Blade will need changing at some point but that's generally pretty straightforward"
