Reroofing an outhouse

We need to reroof an outhouse as cheaply as possible, but we've been told that using concrete tiles could add extra weight to the roof. Would some kind of shingle or sheet option work?

"Depending on the size, it should not cost a great deal to add some extra timbers if you wanted to be sure with the concrete tiles. A lightweight option is a corrugated bitumen sheet or if you want to bring in the light, a polycarbonate sheet roof. These sheets come clear or tinted for privacy."

"Hi
I would recommend a rubber membrane as it's a lot cheaper than tiles too !

And will probably last longer than tiles , normally on an outhouse there's not much of a pitch if any at all , rubber is ideal 👌👌"

"Hello
You get various types of materials now for outhouses and sheds and they are light weight some expensive and some a fair competitive cost.

"Yes concrete tiles would need extra support because of the weight you can use shingles but I have done a few conservatories and I used tapco slate which are a very durable plastic slate and very lightweight but are not cheap"

"Depending what's the wood underneath I would torch on felt and do detail work. Yes concrete tile will add Wight to the roof and maybe not be supporting enuff for the timber joists."

"Tiles would add quiet a bit of weight depending on what’s already there the lightest option for this would be polycarbonate roofing depending on choice of this roof"
