Replacing floorboards with boards

Is it OK to replace floorboards with chipboard? I think they'll be easier to lay but is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

"Depending on where it is going there shouldn't be, and Depending on the spacings of the timbers it's going on will depend on your thickness"

"Hi Kamil

As long as they are the same thickness but you must remember that if you carpet over chipboard your floor levels in different rooms / doorways would be different ? Just something to bare in mind .

"Yes definitely chipboard is a good replacement especially if the joists have been notched for pipes, you can generally get a good fixing and stop any speaking 26mm boards are ready strong especially with d4 glue"

"In my opinion no, its just that if you lay t and g boards it would be hard to take up if someone needs to get to a certain area to repair a pipe or something"
