Replace recessed lights with pendants

How much would it cost to replace recessed lights with pendants? The recessed light is in the bathroom and wiring is very good in a fairly new house.

"Good morning Julie.

The best course of action would be to get a few quotes and go from there. Unfortunately this isn't a price that can be given over the phone.
It may be that you would need more than one trade. Plasterers for example.
Before any alteration is undertaken the circuits in question should be tested to confirm they are safe and meet the electrical requirements set out in the regulations. Once the health of the circuit is known then a quotation could be provided including any remedials that may be required.
Upon completion this should be retested and a minor works cert issued covering the alterations.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Ben"

"Are the pendants for use in a bathroom. There are restrictions in bathrooms due to the high risk of electrical shock. How big is the bathroom & how many Lights are there."

"Pedants are not permitted in a bathroom
The fire rating of the ceiling will be non existent
Maybe fit an led recessed light failing that a safety batten and patch the plasterboard"

"You didn't say how many lights? Anyway, if they are all in the same area best price £120. Assuming you are providing the lights and fittings, I would be more than happy to install them and open to chat see if we can both walk away happy 😊"

"If you mean recessed downlights that could be an issue due to the size of the hole, you may need to remove the spotlights, make the cables safe and get a patcher in for the holes before they can be fitted."

"Depending on the size of the cut out for the light being replaced it should be pretty straight forwards for any electrician."
