Plastic connector replacement

Hi, our plastic connector on our bathroom pull cord light switch has snapped/broken. Is there a way to get a replacement for this connector instead of replacing the whole fitting? I have looked online but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

"A new pull cord from screw fix is £3.99

you could take the parts from that to fix the pull cord string without replacing the base"

"In most cases, that small plastic terminal block isn’t sold as a separate spare part. It’s usually moulded specifically for that light fitting.

While a temporary repair can sometimes be made using a standard connector (e.g. a Wago or choc-block) inside the fitting, the proper and safest fix is to replace the pull-cord switch unit. They’re inexpensive and quick to change, and it ensures the fitting remains secure and compliant."

"Yes — you can often replace just the cord, connector, and handle on a bathroom pull-cord light switch without having to replace the entire switch unit if the switch mechanism itself is still working. A lot of pull-cord switches use a standard cord, small plastic connector and handle that can be swapped out separately."

"Hi Cara,
I’m not aware of these being available separately."

"Hiya , unfortunately not as the quite cheap fittings , maybe try finding the exact same pull cord if possible and just replace the broken part"

"Comes complete with new cords, as by the time the plastic snaps, the cord is usually pretty manky."

"Hiya, the bathroom switch has to be replaced as the the switch is mounted in a special location ie a bathroom. You won't be able to get a bit for the switch anywhere."

"It can be frustrating when a tiny plastic part breaks, making the whole light switch feel unusable. The good news is that you definitely do not need to replace the entire ceiling fitting.

The part you are looking for is commonly called a "Pull Cord Joiner," "Cord Connector," or a "Safety Break Connector."

Where to Find a Replacement
These parts are rarely sold on their own in high-street hardware stores (which usually prefer to sell you the whole £3–£5 switch), but they are widely available online:

Online Marketplaces: Search for "Pull cord joiner" or "Light switch cord connector" on eBay or Amazon. You can often buy a pack of 5 or 10 for a few pounds.

Specialist Shops: Sites like Lighting Spares or Buy It Better sell individual connectors in various finishes (plastic, chrome, or brass).

Blind Suppliers: Interestingly, the exact same part is used for Roman blinds. Searching for "Roman blind cord connector" often brings up the same plastic clips."

"Buy a fitting and take the parts from it, there about £3 from Screwfix"
