Extractor & Light Panel Installation
During the ducting of my ventilator fan for the outside airflow, he damaged one of the ducts and did not seal the fan properly. He also left the internal ducting unsealed, which looks awful. In addition, the extractor chimney was not installed correctly—it was left very loose and secured with only one screw, which is a safety risk as it could fall at any time. I can provide pictures to support and verify my complaint. The only work he completed properly was installing my LED light. For the extractor, he did not arrange or install a dedicated electrical connection. Instead, he used a multi-plug/electrical extension and plug-in, which is unsafe and unacceptable work for a qualified electrician. he is a handy man not a proper electrician.

All works were carried out in line with the instructions and preferences discussed and agreed with you on site. In particular, regarding the extractor fan electrical supply: a dedicated hard-wired connection was discussed, however you specifically requested the use of an extension lead to avoid additional works such as wall chasing, surface trunking, and the associated extra cost and time. This was done at your request, and at the time I left the property the extractor fan was operating correctly. With regard to the ducting and fittings, all components were installed using the materials that were supplied by yourself, and the installation was completed to the best possible standard using those items. If alternative or upgraded materials had been requested, this could have been addressed during the works. The extractor chimney was fitted and left functional at the time of completion. No concerns were raised during or immediately after the installation, and the system was working when I left site. Finally, I would like to note that I am a qualified electrician, and I do not undertake or represent my work as handyman services. The LED lighting installation, as acknowledged, was completed correctly, and the remaining works were carried out in accordance with the scope agreed on the day. I am always open to returning to site to make adjustments or improvements if concerns are raised directly, rather than after the fact. Clear communication at the time of installation allows any issues to be resolved quickly and professionally.
