Planning permission

I intend raising the pitch on my garden outhouse (11ft x 7.5ft) to accommodate clay tiles. Originally they replaced asbestos tiles several years ago but the pitch was too low subsequently letting water in, destroying felt and timber within.
Now I want to renew the roof using the clay tiles, however have received conflicting advice concerning the need for planning permission. Please can someone clarify the matter for me? Thankyou

"I looked in to this some time ago when considering building an annex in the garden. You can view general planning guidance online which is really helpful.
As I recall, if your building extends to the fence line, you can only go to a certain height with the pitch. However, if the building is situated one metre or more from the fence line, a higher pitch is permitted."

"Barbara

You will have to upgrade the rafters to take the weight of the clay tiles, small tiles require a thirty degree minimum pitch and large tiles go down to eleven degree pitch which ever you use will govern the height, check on line for maximum height with the local authorities"

"Yes hi there , so I can’t stress enough, you must make sure planning permission is obtained before you start anything as it could become costly!"

"If the angle is to low it might be better to put a flat roof on it. I'd do rubber I believe it's the best then you will not need planning permission."

""It’s permitted work without planning unless your property is grade 2 listed or within a conservation area." I would double check thought has you have had asbestos’s tiles on it, so it could be a grade 2 building"

"I don’t think you need planning permission due to the size but over it being asbestos I’d double check to be safe ."

"Don’t need planning as your not making the structure bigger your justification for the raise is so the tiles can be at the right pitch so you don’t get water ingress from driving rain"
