New Windows, Want Sun Screens

The company that will be installing new windows on my home will not install sun/solar screens, and product warranty would be voided if we install them ourselves after installation. We were told the screens do not help with heat reduction and that they actually damage the windows by trapping the heat between glass and screen. Are sun or solar screens bad?

"Solar screens block UV rays 65-90%, preventing the sun from heating up your windows and your home. But the screens only block visibility 15% – 40% depending on the fabric selected, so you still get plenty of light inside your home. Both have pros and cons.

Unfortunately, the fact that the warranty will be void if you use either of the products means you can not use either. maybe you could make enquires about blinds, but they are expensive"
