New hinges for cupboard door

I have a small flat, I need whatever space possible therefore I need to find a way of adding new hinges on my cupboard door. Was hoping to half the door, add new hinges so the top is easy accessible while putting a desk at the bottom. The frame appears to be metal with the hinges built in. Is there anyway of removing these and adding smaller hinges

"If the cupboard doors are wooden they should be fairly easy to adapt. However be aware that if the doors are framed the center piece may not be attached to the frame. Instead some sit on the inside groove"

"If your goal is to create a fold-down desk, another approach is to leave the door intact and build a desk that folds out from inside the cupboard, or replace the full-height door with two separate doors. This often looks neater and preserves the cupboard's strength.
If you can upload a photo of the cupboard with the door open and one close-up of the hinge, I can tell you:
whether those hinges can be removed,
exactly how they're attached,
and the easiest way to convert it into an upper cupboard with a desk underneath.
