Leaking Guttering

A part of guttering has been replaced to a new front section. When it rains, it is now leaking quite heavily in one or two places. Not sure if it’s under or over the guttering, but the water is running down the brickwork, which it never did before. Any idea what the problem might be and how to resolve the issue.

"You need to check if it's the same make of guttering, most aren't compatible with the other, unless you have a correct fitting, or it could be the brackets make the guttering sit further out than before"

"Leaking guttering can be frustrating! Given the recent replacement, it's likely related to the new installation. Possible causes:

1. Improper alignment or leveling of the guttering
2. Insufficient or incorrect sealing of joints/connections
3. Incorrect guttering size or pitch
4. Blockages or debris in the guttering
5. Leaks at the downspout connection

To resolve the issue:

1. Inspect the guttering and joints for any signs of leakage or damage.
2. Check the guttering alignment and ensure it's properly leveled.
3. Verify that all connections and joints are sealed correctly.
4. Clear any debris or blockages from the guttering.
5. Consider consulting the installer or a professional roofer for further assistance.

It's essential to address the issue promptly to prevent water damage to the brickwork and surrounding areas.

Would you like more specific guidance or recommendations?"

"Hi good afternoon it could be 1 of 2 things
1 being if it’s leaking where the joins are it’s not sealed properly
2 being if there’s no eve trays it would allow the water to run behind the gutter which will then run down the brick work"

"The suction strip in the clips where the new guttering has been fit may potentially
Not be fixed correctly. Meaning there’s a slight gap where water will run through"

"It sounds like you need some eve trays from the roof to the Gutter so when the rain comes down from the roof it goes straight into the Gutters"

"If the new gutter is fitted to a new extension the old gutter might be running the wrong way and would need to be re a lined to run the right way"

"It could be a couple of things, the guttering falls (slope) is incorrect or the under-slating felt has failed, if it’s the under-slating then a probable fix would be to install a plastic eaves tray known as eps. Any photos would help to determine which."

"Gutters should have a slight slope (about 1:200) to direct water toward the downpipe.
If the new section is level or slopes away from the downpipe, water can overflow or pool."
